The differences between pan granulator and drum granulator

Tongda has two granulation facilities for making both organic fertilizer and compound fertilizers. Meanwhile, these two equipment are common used in the fertilizer making for granulating. Then what are the differences of these two equipment? And how should you choose them for your plants? The following are some details about the two granulators.
The disc granulator is a device for pre-adding water for making powders into balls.
It is a granulating equipment which is commonly used in the organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer manufacturing industry. The disc of the machine adopts the overall arc structure design, and the ball formation rate is up to 90%. The machine is designed with three discharge ports, which is convenient for intermittent operation and also effectively reduces labor intensity, increasing the productivity.

  • After the material is put into the disc and rotates in it, it will become a spherical shape because of the gravity of the material itself and the action of water mist.
  • The disc granulator motor and the reducer are connected by a flexible belt to reduce the impact force and start and stop more smoothly. The bottom of the machine is welded with cross-groove steel plate to strengthen and not deform. The base design of the thickened and heavy steel plate is stable and requires no anchor bolts. The gears used in the disc granulator are treated with high temperature and fire, which prolongs the use time and ensures stable operation of the whole machine.

Drum granulator is the main production equipment in the compound fertilizer production. It is used for hot and cold granulation and is suitable for large-scale production of low, medium and high concentration compound fertilizer.

  1. The working principle is that the pellet is wet granulated, and the compound fertilizer raw materials are humidified and mixed in the drum through quantitative water or water vapor.
  2. And then in a certain liquid phase, the cylinder will rotate to make the raw material particles generate a pressing force.
  3. Finally, the materials will be pellets in a spherical shape.

In summary, the drum granulator is suitable for large-scale fertilizer production enterprises, and the disc granulator is suitable for the transformation of small and medium-sized organic fertilizer production lines and old granulation production lines.
