Working process of rotary drum granulation equipment
Drum granulators are widely used in fertilizer granulation. It is a key equipment in compound fertilizer production line. It is mainly composed of the following structures: rotary cylinder; motor; block ring; screen; belt conveyor; chute pipe; sprayer; scraper.
When granulation begins, the binder can be added at the beginning or after the materials feeding. During the granulation, a sprayer is applied at a fixed position, and water is sprayed into the drum to replenish the moisture, which contributes to the granulation process. In the process of mixing fertilizers using other solutions, it is also possible to spray the desired specific binder in a suitable position by means of a spray device. Then, through the feeding system (belt conveyor, chute pipe and the like), the material is added (the material is composed of fresh material and recycled material), and it is rotated together with the rotating drum. When the liquid content of the material is appropriate, granulation process takes place. This equipment is a representative of Tongda wet granulation machine.
The drum has a certain slope with an angle between the axis and the horizontal plane of less than 10°. This can control the material to roll along the length of the tube while the drum is rotating, increasing the residence time of the material. Andn the structure of the inner surface of the drum has a great influence on the rolling of the material in the drum and the final product quality. A structure such as a kidney lining, a baffle, and a scraper is usually provided in the drum.

The role of the scraper is to maintain a certain thickness of the material on the inner surface of the drum, so that the material layer is uniform, and the material is turned and rolled. Rubber baffles and linings and external shock absorbers are used to prevent build-up. In order to prevent backflow and leakage of materials, a retaining ring is provided at both ends of the drum. For the retaining ring at the discharge end, it also has the effect of increasing the thickness of the layer and the residence time of the material, and the discharge end retaining ring for different product applications is also different.
