How does Dry Granulation Machines Work?

Dry granulation technology in the process of granulation with high pressure granulation, the powder is pelleted to a dense state by applying external force in a limited space. The forces that produce stable agglomeration include bridging force of flocs, cohesive force of low viscosity liquid, surface force and mutual cohesion force. The success of dry granulator operation depends on the effective utilization and transmission of external force on the one hand, and the physical properties of granular materials on the other hand. Dry granulator is a new organic fertilizer granulation process developed from traditional wet mixing granulation. Dry granulator is a kind of granulation process that uses crystal water of material itself to compress, shape and granulate raw material powder directly through mechanical extrusion.

As a main branch of powder process treatment, dry granulator is becoming more and more important with the improvement of environmental protection requirements and production process automation. "Granulation of powdery fertilizer" has become an inevitable trend of powder post-treatment technology. The significance of dry granulator is mainly reflected in three aspects: first, to reduce dust pollution and improve working conditions; second, to meet the production process requirements, such as increasing porosity and specific surface area, improving heat transfer; third, improving the physical properties of products to avoid bubble, caking, crushing and other adverse effects in the subsequent operation process and use process. The dry granulator creates conditions for improving the automation and airtight operation of production and use process.



The strength of the particles is generally related to the pressure, feeding and speed. The feeding process is also a pre pressing and degassing process. If the air in the materials is exhausted as much as possible, the yield will be high. If the reasonable control is carried out, the dry granulator can achieve the ideal effect and meet the needs of customers. 

1. The speed of agitator and chopper can at least be changed by two speed motor, the speed range of agitator is 30 to 500, the speed range of chopper is 300 to 3000 rpm, the speed can be adjusted by frequency conversion, and the display can be set.

2. For the two speed simple control, the control has start, emergency stop, stop switch and fault display, as well as current display and speed change display of the second gear motor. When the discharge valve or drain is closed, the motor of mixing pulp and chopper can run, and vice versa. In addition, only when the discharge valve is closed can the cleaning process be started.

3. The electrical control of dry granulator should have self-protection function to prevent possible damage to dry granulator due to misoperation, including main motor fault protection and emergency stop protection.
